YOU MUST CREATE

When I was studying at the Utrecht School of Arts I remember asking several creatives and film directors how they create engaging stories. Not one could give me a satisfying answer. For me this emphasized the difficulty of storytelling. It wasn’t until I read ‘Joseph’s Campbell The Hero with a Thousand Faces’ that I finally understood the complexity of my own question.

It’s not just about the beginning, a middle and an end. It’s about our own assumptions that are constantly changing and seeking for a greater truth. We’re constantly looking for new insights to keep us moving forward. Stories helps us grow and reflect on who we truly are at a certain time in our lives.

In 2007, after graduating at the Utrecht School of Arts receiving the title: Master of Arts and Economics, Jorgen van Dongen (1986) began his professional career producing, writing and directing for different clients. He co-founded the Amsterdam based production house Bleck together with his former study partner Steven Willems. They have since worked together for more then 15 years for several marketing, branding and communications departments within the public and private sector.
