Lisa Smit is known for films such as Baantjer: Het Begin and TBS, and TV series including Dokter Deen and Project Orpheus. Derek de Lint is one of the Netherlands’ most renowned actors, having appeared in feature films like Soldier of Orange, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Black Book, and Gooische Vrouwen. In the short film Lili, the audition of a young actress (Lisa Smit, Ares – Netflix) for an older man (Derek de Lint, Soldier of Orange) takes an unexpected turn when the relaxed meeting transforms into a cunning cat-and-mouse game.
Van Berckelaer, a Los Angeles–based filmmaker, has achieved international festival success with the romantic comedy short All The Single Ladies! and the zombie musical Zombie Love, which won over twenty awards worldwide.
Shot in a single take, the film had its world premiere in late June as part of the competition at the 23rd edition of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in Bucheon, South Korea.
